![]() The good thing is that many a space scientist, who would be able to absorb all the text in the blink of an eye, would also love to have on hand the visuals. ![]() There was no easy way in for the newcomer to know what kind of nebula was what, and I lost track of how many new-to-me classification systems for these things there were, beyond the common Messier and NGC numbers. This could well be a good thing or not – the captions making up the core of the script were much lengthier than is the norm for these books, but seemed geared to those in the know. Right from the off, with the quick little introduction, there were too many numbers for some potential readers, and the depth of information only continued. This guide to outer space had the photographic brilliance I expected from these publishers, but a text content – and level – that was not what I predicted.
